Cotati Jazz Festival - June 19, 2010

We had a great day at the Jazz Festival...good music...interesting vendors...and (unfortunately) a lot of wind. Made some good contacts...a really nice lady that would like to feature my jewelry in her shop as 'featured artist of the month,' plus other contacts.

For my next show I'm looking at exhibiting at the Cotati Accordian Festival. This is a well-attended two-day event that's been going on in Cotati since 1991. About 5,000-6,000 folks are expected each day. I'll keep you posted.

2010 Newest Creations

It's been too long since I posted to my site, and I have some new photos I'd like to share.

This first piece is created with 3-4mm freshwater pearls, highlighting a 13mm White South Sea Saltwater Pearl. All pearls have very high luster. The findings are vermeil 22kt gold over sterling silver. The necklace measures 17" and comes with matching freshwater pearl earrings.

This is a stunning piece that will stand out beautifully with your 'little black dress.'

I absolutely adore this style of necklace, wire wrapped gemstones strung together to make its own neck chain. These gemstones are faceted black Quartz.

The necklace measures 18" and comes with matching earrings. All wire and findings are made with 14kt yellow gold filled components.

The metal pendant is made by Metalcraft by DeZine. For more information on these handcrafted metal pieces of copper and brass jewelry art, please go to:

http://www.kazuribeadswest.com/moabmebyde.html.

This little number has 'summer' written all over it. The necklace is created with green chalcedony and fluorite beads, featuring a handcrafted wire wrapped pendant of Green African Opal and copper.

The necklace measures 18" and the pendant is approximately 2" long. The matching earrings are created with the same components.

All findings are copper.

This is another piece created for summer wear. Chocolate brown rice pearls with super luster make up the necklace highlighting a large mabe shell pearl. The necklace can be worn 'backwards' to display the smooth iridescent shell side.

The necklace measures 18" and uses sterling silver findings.

I'm moving...transition to Etsy Store!

I have maintained a successful eBay store for four years and enjoyed 100% Positive Feedback during that time. Now I have expanded my passion for jewelry by creating more handcrafted, custom designs. My belief is that handcrafted jewelry has its own natural beauty and character, and you enjoy greater pleasure and contentment when wearing something made from nature...the greatest artist.

My Etsy Shop opened in July 2008 and I will be adding new pieces day by day. I continue to create prong-set Earrings, Pendants, and Rings using Precious Gemstones, Gold and Silver, and I will be including these pieces in my shop as well.

I want to thank all of my past eBay customers and invite everyone to visit my new store at
www.sonomagemstones.etsy.com. Please contact me if you have comments, suggestions or questions about my new store. Thanks for looking...Enjoy!

Handcrafted Jewelry Show at the Cotati Jazz Festival

Hi everyone!

I'm going to be showing some of my newest handcrafted pieces at the Cotati Jazz Festival, Saturday, June 19, 2010...a local jazz festival right here in my local area. I'm really looking forward to it and I've been creating some new pieces for the occasion.

Shown below are some pieces I have sold since last year's Jass Festival.

Carnelian and Goldstone, hand wire wrapped in Copper.

Here are a few other pieces...I hope you like them.

Honey Jade Beads Strung in Gradient Color with Champagne Swarovski Crystals and Matching Earrings in 14kt Gold Filled.

Keep watching for more new pieces before the show.

If you're local to Northern California... stop by for the Jazz Festival and some great music. I hear its going to be Swing this year.

Lapis Lazuli Necklace/Pendant & Earrings!

I have already created one Lapis Necklace, with removable Pendant, and Earrings in Silver. You can wear this necklace two different ways...with the pendent on the clasp in front (as shown), or you can remove the pendant and wear the necklace in the regular fashion with the clasp in the back. The wire wrap on the pendant matches the design on the clasp.

The necklace also has matching earrings.

I hope you enjoy some of my earlier creations! I'll be back in the studio making a lot more pretties, so stay tuned. Be sure to check out my website at

Love Turquoise?

I have just finished my newest piece...Turquoise and Jasper in Silver. Its a bold piece, the turquoise rounds are 17mm! The Jasper beads are 10mm, combined with Turquoise Chips.

I usually see Turquoise combined with Red Coral... now I'm not knocking red coral... but I like more unique pieces. I hate to see myself coming and going down the street with the same jewelry everybody else is wearing. I went with Jasper because it has the red tones, but rather than brighter red, the Jasper has a more earthy tone, which I think is a great combination with the Turquoise.

The Necklace length is 18" with a 2" Adjustable Silver Clasp. The Earrings have a 1-3/4" drop. I chose the smaller Jasper Beads and the Turquoise Chips for the Earrings...too much weight with the larger beads!?

This Necklace would be awesome with brighter summer colors and could be worn right into the Fall with the earthy tone gemstone beads. My personal favorite would be a black turtleneck sweater and slacks or jeans. I'm going to make a matching bracelet that I think will compliment the set very well.
I would love to hear your opinions. I'll be adding it to my eBay store in a day or two (http://www.sonomagemstones.com/). Thanks for watching!!
